We are also proud to offer the WSW Opportunity Scholarship Program. Each summer, the program provides financial support to interns from economically disadvantaged backgrounds to help them afford an internship in Washington, which will help them advance their professional aspirations. WSW interns work closely with the Principals and Partners at WSW on a range of administrative, research, and project-oriented tasks. Clerical responsibilities include updating databases, answering phones, and scheduling meetings on Capitol Hill. Other responsibilities include monitoring and reporting on Congressional hearings, conducting legislative research, working on social media projects, analyzing legislation, and coordinating and attending fundraising events for Members of Congress. WSW interns are also encouraged to attend events on Capitol Hill, network with public policy professionals across the industry, and often have the chance to interact with elected officials. Internships can also be coordinated for college or graduate school credit based on the criteria outlined by the participating college or university. While the internship is unpaid, we provide a full travel stipend to our interns for days they commute to and from the office.

Applicants should be motivated self-starters interested in how the private sector works with the federal government. Ideal candidates will be strong writers with at least two years of college-level courses, and will have a basic understanding of the U.S. political process. Office experience, either as an intern or otherwise, is preferred but not required.
