Healthcare

WSW has represented a wide array of healthcare clients, including patient advocacy organizations, pharmaceutical companies, small innovator biotech companies, medical device manufacturers, hospital systems, academic medical centers, medical schools, provider associations, and health insurance plans.

We have worked with each of these organizations to achieve major legislative, regulatory, funding, reimbursement, and other policy objectives, including securing significant federal partnerships through competitive grants and Community Project Funding/Congressionally Directed Spending in the annual appropriations process.

Defense

WSW is expert in helping defense-related enterprises of all sizes build key relationships with Congress and the Administration to advance their business objectives. We help defense clients secure funding through the annual appropriations process, by responding to Broad Agency Announcements, and through other opportunities. We also help clients navigate the annual National Defense Authorization Act process from start to finish. A key differentiator is our ability to help defense clients form partnerships, alliances, or other relationships that open additional funding, research, or procurement possibilities.

Higher Education

WSW represents a number of institutions of higher education (IHEs), including public and private four-year and two-year institutions. WSW works with our IHE clients to advance federal policy and funding requests for their priorities through direct advocacy and involvement in the authorization, appropriations and competitive grants processes. Our principals are experts on higher education policy and on where Congress and the federal departments and agencies are dedicating federal resources and how best to keep our clients ahead of the competition regarding funding opportunities. We develop long-term, substantive relationships between our IHE clients with Members of Congress and the Administration and create federal partnerships to help support for worthy projects.

Public Entities/Infrastructure

WSW has extensive experience in successfully developing, implementing, and managing large and complex federal government relations and funding strategies for public sector clients. We represent several counties, municipalities, and public entities such as improvement authorities, and flood control commissions, and water authorities, helping advance initiatives in Washington that benefit their transportation infrastructure, stormwater management, energy efficiency, environmental impacts, and lower costs for ratepayers and residents. WSW works with its public sector clients to secure funding for their priorities through the annual federal appropriations process and federal competitive grants.
