WSW Secures over $13.5 million for The Aleut Corporation

In Brief

When WSW was hired to write and submit a U.S. Department of Transportation; Maritime Administration Port Infrastructure Development Program (PIDP) grant application for one of the 13 regional Alaska Native corporations created by the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act of 1971, the corporation had never applied for a federal grant. WSW led and managed all aspects of the PIDP grant development and submission process, including providing guidance on the program and the corporation’s proposed project; drafting all project narrative components; and completed all required forms. These efforts resulted in an award of $10,161,900 for pier repairs and updates at the Port of Adak in the Aleutian Islands. Following this first time success, the corporation engaged WSW to write a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Brownfield Community Wide Assessment Grant as well as a EPA Solid Waste Infrastructure for Recycling Grant, both of which were also awards, $2,000,000 and $1,500,000 respectively.
