Michael McMenamin’s more than 20 years of legal, regulatory, legislative, strategic and tactical planning and business development experience in technology and communications issues stems from work at Alcatel-Lucent, US Telecom Association, Booz Allen, the FCC, and as an independent consultant. Most recently, he has been facilitating entrance into the $7B public safety broadband marketplace via regulatory and policy counsel, public and private business development, and lobbying for State and local governments, a ruggedized wireless device manufacturer, a major accounting firm, mobile applications company, deployable wireless system provider, tower infrastructure provider, and a systems integrator. Prior to that, he served as team lead growing Alcatel-Lucent’s global public safety broadband business by developing legislative and regulatory spectrum strategies that benefited 4G LTE broadband deployment. Additionally as Senior Counsel, Americas Public Affairs at Alcatel-Lucent he managed the company’s wireless regulatory and legislative affairs practice. He also played a key role in creating the first-ever public safety broadband network in the District of Columbia. Overall, he has vast experience working with Congress and the Administration, particularly the Federal Communications Commission, the Department of Homeland Security, and the Department of Defense. His public policy expertise includes technology, telecommunications, wireless broadband, public safety, electric utilities, homeland security and defense, cyber-security, privacy, data security, accessibility, and wiretapping.
